Well, if you’re like me, you frequently look to the stars for fashion inspiration. No, not the astronomical ones, the ones on every red carpet and magazine cover! While I don’t have one celebrity who I think is ‘best-dressed’, I love to see how certain actresses and socialites put together looks, especially during seasonal transitions. As I get ready to fully eschew my winter pieces in favor of looser, spring-ier garments, these celebs are the ones I’m following to get it right:
Chloë Sevigny at the Barney’s New York Chloé Anniversary
I love all things Chloé, so seeing one of the most sartorially fascinating actresses around wearing one of my all-time favorite designers (and a vintage piece from them, no less), has me especially giddy. I love the mixture of gold and black as a way to brighten up dark winter hues without giving them up altogether.

Eva Mendes in New York
While I didn’t always find Ms. Mendes’ fashion choices that exciting, she has upped her game in recent months (maybe since becoming the Gosling’s GF), and I like that she marches to the beat of her own style drum. This cerise (vintage Halston) maxi dress is bright for spring and paired with decidedly cold-weather accessories, making it the perfect transition ensemble.

Marina Rust at the Bergdorf Goodman Dior Opening
As a writer and fashion expert, Marina always looks amazing but I particularly love this ’60s-tinged ensemble like something out of an Audrey Hepburn movie. Spring is the perfect time to play the role of gamine nymphet, especially by layering your favorite floaty dresses over slacks!
